Strategic Change Summit Outcome
The Diocese Change Summit on June 1 & 2, 2007 was grounded in the Baptismal promises (BCP p. 304) for envisioning the future using a combination of small groups and plenary sessions. Five persons from Trinity who made up our team were David Jordan (team leader), Shirley Brodginski, Kevin Nagle, Stephen Nagle, and Fr. Bill.
One result from this gathering was the vision to have a district youth group here in the Chemung District. On August 28th, representatives from the district churches met to discuss the vision and begin to implement it in practical ways. More to come.
Our Deacon Intern
The Rev. Paul Towers has joined our staff for a six month internship under the mentoring of Fr. Bill in the liturgy of the Episcopal Church. This internship at the request of our Bishop is a sign of his confidence in our practice of worship of God in this place. Paul meets regularly with Fr. Bill to discuss the liturgies of the church and prepare to be grounded in the theology and celebration of the Eucharist, which is required of all persons who are ordained to the order of priests in the Church. Paul is hoping to be ordained priest following this required canonical transitional period.
